Ukrainian Levkoy
A rare hairless breed with inward-folding ears, combining the Donskoy body with Scottish Fold ear shape; docile, friendly and devoted.
Overview
The Ukrainian Levkoy is a rare hairless breed with distinctive inward-folding ears (the name evokes a “turned-down ear tip”), combining the Donskoy body with the Scottish Fold ear shape. Docile, friendly and devoted, it is a striking companion.
History & Origin
Developed in Ukraine in the 2000s by crossing Donskoy (hairless) cats with Scottish Fold-type cats to achieve the unique folded ears atop a hairless, angular body.
Appearance & Coat
A medium-sized, slim cat with a longish face, folded ears and warm wrinkled skin (or a fine brush coat). The unusual ear fold gives a thoughtful, distinctive expression.
Temperament
Levkoys are gentle, affectionate and calm, getting along with family and other pets. They are social but not hyperactive.
Care & Grooming
As a hairless breed, they need regular bathing and a warm indoor environment. Folded ears should be checked and cleaned gently.
Health & Lifespan
Lifespan is 12–15 years. A young rare breed; choose reputable breeders and monitor health.
Recognition
Recognised by WCF and some European registries (still rare internationally).
